Common-Gamma Receptor Antagonists

Common-Gamma Receptor Antagonists

One of the molecules that we have targeted for intervention is a receptor that is used by several cytokines (IL-2, IL-3, IL-7, IL-9, IL-15 and IL-21) called common-gamma chain. These cytokines play critical roles in regulating immune responses and they have been associated with many disorders such as cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, celiac disease, auto-immune diseases and psoriasis. Our small molecule developed against this receptor can block the function of these cytokines and be used as a substitute for blocking monoclonal antibodies. The cost of making this small molecule is a fraction of that for producing monoclonal antibodies.
